Young Cancer Patient With Big Smile Arrives At Birthday Party By Police Escort

A three-year-old boy from Missouri had the best birthday of his young life thanks to a heartwarming move on behalf of his local police department – and a miraculous health milestone.

Little Kenneth Hansen fulfilled his dream of celebrating his birthday at the police station, and the Jasper Police Department and several members of the community came together to make sure that he had the coolest entrance possible.

Footage from the day of his party shows Kenneth beaming with happiness as his uncle, Sgt. Matt Cooperrider, helps him out of the squad car after arriving in a police escort.

It was also Kenneth’s first birthday celebration since his family received news that Kenneth was finally cancer-free: after enduring his final chemotherapy treatment in August, Kenneth was deemed to have beaten the illness that had plagued him since he was just 18 months old.

“It was horrible, seeing him go through this,” Cooperrider said. “But he kept positive all the time, even though he was going through so much. We’re all very grateful that he was able to make it and make it to his third birthday.”
