Sports Peace Camp Delegates Share Stories of Horror and Hope

Posted by tvcgroup on Jun. 18, 2009

The fourth international Generations for Peace camp in Amman, Jordan is about to close its doors on another highly successful and emotionally charged training camp.Founded by HRH Prince Feisal Al Hussein of Jordan, Generations For Peace uses sport as a vehicle for peace building in divided communities. The camp brings together youth leaders from countries troubled by conflict across the world - including Sri Lanka, Somalia, Pakistan and Iraq - where the participants share their experiences of conflict, and support each other in developing ideas that will help change their societies when they return home.Delegates are coached by leading international and local peace education experts and sport coaches, who give them sport training, as well as conflict resolution and teaching skills.
