Ratu Boko Temple

Ratu Boko is the archaeological site is a complex number of the remaining buildings are approximately 3 km south of Prambanan temple complex, 18km east of Yogyakarta or 50km southwest of Surakarta. Size overall complex is about 25ha. The site is estimated to have used one in the 8th century in the House of Sailendra (Rakai Panangkaran) of the Kingdom Medang (Hindu Mataram). Viewed from the pattern of laying the remains of the building, allegedly this site is the former palace (palace). The name Queen Boko itself based on local legend. Ratu Boko (literally means king stork) is the father of Loro Jonggrang (given the name of the main temple at Prambanan temple complex). Administratively, this temple located in the Prambanan District, Sleman District, Yogyakarta and lies at an altitude of almost 200m above sea level.
