The Official Commission of the KHL has awarded both Vityaz Chekhov and Avangard Omsk, whose Saturday game descended into a massive brawl, with 0-5 defeats. Both sides were fined 22 thousand euros - after the match was called-off by the ref after fighting broke out after three minutes at the weekend. While hosts Vityaz were handed an additional fine of 65 thousand euros for staining the khl's image. The head coaches, and some of the hottest-tempered players, also face fines. The game had to be abandoned, after the players picked up just under 700 penalty minutes between them leaving virtually no one left to play the match.
