August 28, 2010 - 15 miles north of Ridgecrest on Hwy 395 in the Eastern Sierras, heavy rains caused flash floods which eventually turned to mud with lots of boulders being washed down the mountains covering the highway. This truck tried to make it past initial water before being stuck in low mud. Minutes later his truck is over taken by heavy mud that consequently over turned his truck. This is a short sequence that was taken from an I-phone. The driver of the semi wasnt injured as he was clear of the truck once this happened. The photog wasnt able to capture the truck getting crushed but he said it sounded and looked like a soda can getting crushed. The 395 was closed for an estimated 14 hours. According to eyewitnesses, no other vehicles were involved and no one was injured on either side of the flow that went over the highway.
