Easter Egg Hunt, Texas Style

Easter egg hunt Texas style! To celebrate Easter our family participated in a 20,000 helicopter Easter Egg drop over Northeast Metropolitan Park in Pflugerville, Texas just outside of Austin. The event was hosted by The Exchange church. To keep the hunt fair they did 5 egg drops over 5 fields for different age groups. The helicopter flew by, dumped eggs, then flew on to the next field. It was nerve wracking as the helicopter pilot fought gusty winds while hovering only 50 feet overhead. Once the eggs dropped the kids swarmed the field snatching up any egg that hit the ground. First field was for preschoolers. Our field was for K through 2nd grade. As soon as the Easter bunny said go people swarmed onto the field and almost instantly all the eggs, and there were tons of them, disappeared. My daughter was disappointed other kids where bawling.
