David B. Mueller, obviously very traumatized by years of police state abuse, decides to go fishing. He recalls how ashamed he felt the last time he went fishing because he gut hooked a bluegill fish and might have traumatized and injured the fish. He would have felt a little better about that incident if he or his loved ones had been starving and needed to eat the fish to survive. But Mueller was sort of flying on automatic pilot so to speak and engaged in this fishing behavior without premeditation and was blinded by instinctual drives so as not to consider the moral and ethical dimensions of his ingrained behavior.
