Hundreds of local residents and tourists raced their highly decorated beds at the popular beach resort of Pattaya in Thailand. For the fifth year running, 32 teams comprising of six people dressed up their beds and themselves to participate in the annual 1.5-kilometre race, to help raise money for several non-government organisations and charities. We just heard about the father Greg foundation and the bed race to help poor children and we want to be a part of it to have some fun and help the poor children. Thats all, said a bed racing participant Pasha Shishkin. Its absolutely amazing. We slowed down half way but we pushed again and we finished very very near to first position today. Its very excited!. Way to go team! Go! Have fun team! said a bed racing competitor from Hilton Pattaya, Philippe Kronberg. Organisers said the bed race started out five years ago with competitors pushing hospital beds.
