On April, 18th 1783 The American Revolution started… and it also ended on the 18th 8 years later. Revolutionary War re-enactors are thankful for this coincidence because it means they get to wrap up all of their grown up make believe fighting by 5pm. Two major natural disasters changing the country happened this day. In 1903, the great San Francisco Earth Quake occurred, and in 1923 Yankee Stadium, “The House that Ruth Built,” opened. The city of Boston still recognizes Yankee Stadium as the bigger tragedy citing it as the end of happiness in baseball.
