Thieves Pretend To Be Cops, Barge Into House And Tie Up Homeowners

Police in Miami-Dade are on the lookout for two crooks who dressed up as police officers and busted into a home, where they proceeded to tie up the unsuspecting residents and make off with their hard-earned possessions.

Surveillance video shows the robbers roll up to the victims’ property in a black SUV and emerge wearing what appears to be tactical gear. The duo can be seen sprinting toward the property, opening the gate, and forcing their way through the unlocked front door.

According to police, the thieves happened to strike in the late afternoon as a cable repairman was working at the property. They tricked the homeowners into thinking they were Miami police officers before eventually demanding cash and jewelry.

The three adults and two children present inside the house were subdued while the robbers gathered $500 in cash, as well as a firearm.

Now, authorities are hoping that the surveillance video will help them identify the police poseurs before they can strike another innocent household.
