that was quite the spectacle!., it was a very simple yet effective design.. so it only deploys upon impact at a certain value of G's. what happens when you fall off your bike, smash your head on the ground, then the invisible helmet deploys, snapping your neck? ill stick with a regular helmet that is rated highly for safety, not fashion.

It's not supposed to be literally invisible, more gives you freedom of movement and vision that helmets restrict and looks like it offer a lot more protection when deployed as it protects the neck too. It's almost like they spent millions of dollars trying to make an invisible helmet and when they couldn't come up with anything they just made an airbag for your head.
I know most of you never bike because you're too afraid to go outside, but this actually has a market. European countries have extensive bike transportation routes so there's no need for a helmet. In north america where most bikers ride with cars, this is an amazing technology as I see alot of people riding helmetless because it looks "stupid".
