If I ever had roommates that pranked me like this, I would make them regret the day they were born. There's a difference between a prank and being a total a-hole, and this one, like the shower shock prank, crosses that line.
A 220 can kill you very quickly! Very few people survive a shock from a 220. If you are working on a 220 and have your elbow bent you have a better chance of surviving. If you think you can take a 220, then go shock yourself with a plug from a dryer or another 220. There are so many idiots out there!
Silent fail. I work as an electrician, and have been zapped by 120, 220, 277 and 480. It's rare to actually get killed from being zapped. Very specific conditions need to occur for it to be lethal. On top of the being grounded, usually it needs to travel across your chest, 2) it needs to be high current, and voltage != high current.
For example, you are more likely to get killed from a 12v car battery then a 120v household circuit because of the amperage you will like receive from the battery.
on your dryer there are four slots...the two to the outside are your two hots...the ones to the top and bottom are your neutral and ground.. take your meter and put one lead into either hot and the other into the neutral or ground...if it reads 220 something is wrong. Open up your main panel...coming in on your main wire will be a ground white black and red.. black and red are both 110 lines...your 220 breakers are positioned on a part of each phase's bus bar to give appliances that need 220 the correct
itsDBB you are incorrect. 220 is 220, 110 is 110. there is only one phase the other is neutral. Are you saying i should get 110 from neutral to ground on my meter if so you need to go back to college.
Not true at all... im not recommending getting yourself shocked but honestly i and im sure almost anyone else who does electrical for a living has been buzzed by a leg of 220. And like i said in my previous post each leg is only 110.. no different than the plugs and lights in your house.. its only when you put both phases together that they make 220. Put a meter on your dryer plug from one of the hots to the neutral and you will see what im talking about
220 is only 220 if you are hit by both phases..otherwise its just your standard 110. Personally i have been hit by one leg of a three phase 277/480 electrical system for about 2 seconds and im still here today. I had grounded myself out through my index finger to the side of the electrical panel so the path never crossed my heart or any other vital organ..just hurt my hand and forearm like hell.
I cant claim to know exactly how this prank was set up but i imagine the prankster had the prankee ground
first of all Hegge its take 6 miliamps to stop heart and you can take 120 v ac and be fine i have been hit with it Twice even 220 you can survive it all depends on where your hit at and how long . its not voltage that kills its amperage
So incredibly fake, or maybe something hidden. Since the power from an outlet is way higher than any human would survive. Im guessing its a 110 volt outlet like in the states. That would lead me to the conclusion that its also a 16 amp outlet, your heart stops at an average of 150 milliamps / 10-15 milliseconds. Maybe they have some kind of capacitor or transformer hooked up wich would make it more plausible. Anyway pretty awsome wakeup :)
FAKE and i have scientific proof...He is not grounded laying in a bed because of the box springs... All modern bed box springs do not contain springs its just a wood frame and wood does not conduct electricity therefore not grounded so its FAKE!!!! oh and before i get flamed, the term box springs was used when the frame was nothing but springs
You're a moron. This can be done easily with a capacitor. You can put some extra long leads on the capacitor and put them right over the alarm button so when he touches it he'll get shocked. Take apart a disposable camera and you'll have a capacitor and a charging device!
LOL! I want you to try it and come back and tell us how much it hurt. Just try something small - like the ignition device in a cheap cigarette lighter. I'll bet you your lack of spring theory will make no difference at all.
Be funny. Don't be mean. We may remove comments that cross the line.
i thought pranks are to make fun not to hurt. That's just plain evil man
HAHAHaaa that was awesome
is it sad I want to make one for myself so I can get my ass out of bed in the morning?
MY NAME IS SPARKEYYYYYYYYY
thats better because most people don't wanna woke up early but thats better idea.
Just retarded
god i hate the sound of those alarms
brilliant
bet ya that woke him up lol
Just five more minutes *goes to shut off8 BZAAPP OUCH F***
My dad uses a bug zapper to wake me up
Alarm clock, 10.00$...Throwing your friends heart off rhythm priceless!
there goes his morning wood
Wow i would have got him back. an electrified toilet seat or something.
 that deserves an ass whoopin
 haha thats fucked up
ouch, this is just plain evil lol
 Good morning, Sunshine.
So what is the difference of someone attaching a hair blower to an alarm clock or me throwing that same alarm clock at you when your taking a bath?
 uh, right
Poor guy, that sound is terrible to wake up with, plus he gets shocked :D
D.H.D.?
STFU
yes
 D.H.D.?
no

You are a dipshlt if you have been nailed by 480. Explain how.
Shut it stupids

220 will not kill u unless u have a heart condition or if u are fat (fat ppl lead electricity better ;) )

You're a retard! If it was a 220, then he would be in trouble!
You Sir, are a BABOON!!! BABOON BABOON BABOON......BABOON!!!!
best alarm clock ever, they should market this
I think we all saw that from a mile away.

what? what do the box springs have to do with it?
goodbye morning wood.
or welcome
