he looked at his phone and was driving looking straight ahead when the driver in front stopped fast. he avoided a crash and the Asian woman behind him wasn't paying attention. his phone had nothing to do with the crash, he was traveling at speed with the car in front at speed as well long after he put his phone down. he couldn't be any more attentive or preventative than he was. your all dumb.

  @Tempra if he hadnt been on the phone he would not have had to swerve over to the left of the car in front of him when he stopped too late, giving the car behind him almost no warning because he had to slam on his brakes.. ya it wasnt his fault but he wasnt driving like a genius.

  @toucH420 uh, he was looking dead ahead when the sudden breaks were applied. car in front of him also slammed on the breaks. yeah the phone text is never a good idead, but contributed in no way to this crash.

If he had been paying attention earlier, he would have slowed gradually, and the person behind him probably would have seen him slowing down. But he was distracted by his phone, so he had to slam on his brakes... causing the person behind him to do the same.
