It would appear there aren't many dog people. Retrievers are awesome dogs that can put a smile on anyone's face. He was also probably referring to his "work day", which mail workers love to complain about and go on strike. (Which is also their most consistent delivery time)

What an awful day YOU must have. This sweet mail man is a true lover of dogs. This would be a wonderful thing to encounter every day. I would So look forward to it, and be truly heart broken when the day came that i was not greeted by this wonderful dog!
