Obama Warns Trump He’ll Fight Back If Trump Does Any Of These Three Things

In his final press conference as president, Barack Obama issued a stern warning to President-elect Donald Trump, vowing to step back into the spotlight if Trump violates any part of a short list of Obama’s key values.

If Trump tries to establish “functional obstacles to people being able to vote,” likely referring to controversial voter ID laws, Obama will speak out. The outgoing president also took a stand against “institutional efforts to silence dissent or the press.”

However, Obama issued his strongest warning against Trump on the topic of the so-called DREAMers, those who were brought into the country illegally as children.

“And for me, at least, I would put in that category efforts to round up kids who have grown up here and for all practical purposes are American kids, and send them someplace else, when they love this country, they are our kids’ friends and their classmates and are now entering into community colleges, or in some cases serving in our military,” Obama said.

He went on to suggest that Trump’s proposed immigrations policies would unfairly “punish those kids.” Since Obama established many of the protections surrounding dreamers via executive actions, Trump will be able to remove them almost immediately if he so desires – but apparently not without provoking some sort of action from Obama.
