Just when you thought that Cinco de Mayo couldn’t become a bigger party, good news! The 5th May this year falls on the first Thursday, which also means… it’s also National Prayer Day! This party is gonna be off the hook! This day was designated by the U.S. Congress in 1952 as a day in which Americans are asked to look to God in prayer and meditation. As you can imagine, its constitutionality is still being challenged in court, under the ridiculous argument that not everybody is religious. While it’s still in effect, I recommend that you all stay home and call in “prayer” to work today. Now I am not sure what that means at all, but the good news is - neither will your boss. So it’s a win-win, right!National Day of Prayer on the same day as Cinco de Mayo. I guess when you think about it after the 8th shot of Tequila tonight that might not be that bad of an idea.
