OMG! Heroic Mother Saves 13-Year-Old Daughter From Being Kidnapped

A Florida mother has been hailed as a hero for rescuing her 13-year-old daughter from a brazen attempted kidnapping at a Dollar General store – and the entire incident was caught on security camera footage you can view above.

When 30-year-old Craig Bonello grabbed this woman's daughter and tried to drag her away, her mother courageously fought back and prevented the crime from taking place.

The unidentified teenager and her mother were shopping at the Hernando discount retailer when Bonello, who had been pushing a shopping cart full of goods, suddenly rounded a corner and pounced on the girl.

A frantic struggle ensued as Bonello ferociously tried to yank the girl out of the store, but the mother would not relent. She eventually threw herself over her daughter to stop Bonello from snatching her out of her grasp.

“In my 10 years on the road I have never seen anything like this. He truly intended to abduct this child right in front of everyone in the store,” Sergeant Craig Callahan with the Citrus County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.

“It actually was violent enough to tear the girl's shirt up pretty badly that she was wearing,” Callahan noted. “We're very fortunate that the mother had the motherly instinct and did what she did. She may have saved her daughter's life.”

Off-duty deputy Jonathan Behnen was walking into the store when the incident took place and was alerted by the manager of the attempted kidnapping. He managed to block Bonello's car before he could drive away and was able to arrest him.

Bonello, who was found to have had a number of misdemeanors on his record, will face charges of kidnapping and child abuse.
