If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again. That seems to be the mantra that this attempted car thief was channeling as he was caught on surveillance footage trying and failing multiple times to get into vehicles that weren’t his.
The incident took place on Friday in Greenville, South Carolina, where police were alerted to a potential crime spree after a homeowner captured the would-be car thief on a security system.
Footage shows the man – described by police as a black male with a possible bald spot on the back of his head – directly mugging the camera before trying to open the door to a black sedan parked under a carport.
After struggling with the locked door for a few brief moments, the suspect wanders off. Authorities claim that he sneaked through the North Main community for about two hours in the early morning attempting to find an unlocked car before finally giving up.
Now, police are hoping that the surveillance footage helps the community to identify the persistent crook before he strikes again.
