The guy who pulls his chute: late has incredible foresight. One second sooner and the both chutes would have been tangled together. A second later and he would have hit the water way to fast. Very quick thinking, very experienced jumper.

P.S.: Its an A.A.D. Automatic Activation Device,and no they do not have enough alltitude to use it.They also pack with no slider so that their chute opens instantly insead of a nice long snivel opening.Its like going from 120mph to 0mph in one second.Really hard on the ribs.
Yes its real.: ?The video is from Lemmings Laughs.Once a year they close this bridge and allow base jumpers to try and kill themselves.That is just one of a whole bunch of near misses,malfunctions,and very bad landings.

I wonder if his auto activator popped his chute: or whether he was able to pull the ripcord himself? When I went skydiving (Accellerated Freefall 1) we had this emergency AA-something activiator that pops the chute automatically at a certain altitude. I dont remember what its called but I wonder if that guys saved his life?

@ephidaboost AAD: The aad deploys the reserve parachute when falling at a certain speed at a certain altitude... base jumpers rigs dont have reserve chutes or aads
