The Yanks refused outright as they saw nothing in it for them (guessing stopping a tyrant was not high on their list). Only when the Japanese gave them a spanking then they decided to intervene. I love stereotypes. That aside, I think you should get your own facts straight. It's hard for the USA to have been invaded in 1812 by a country that didn't exist until 1867. I am aware that the modern day Canada was part of the British Empire in 1812, but Canadians taking sole credit for the burning DC when it was actually a British invasion is akin to the USA taking all the credit for winning WWI and WWII. So kudos to you for attacking someone with hypocrisy.
actually, americans are pretty oblivious to every other country other than there own, and they barely know there geography and history, barely any of them know of major canadian cities, alot of them think it is absolutely freezing up here at all times, when for half the year it gets to highs of +35 Celsius, barely any american would know that canadians invaded america 3 times, and burned down the white house twice. Its true, its called the battle of 1812. So all in all, americans are a pretty ignorant bunch
