How Crooks Used A Pickup Truck To Rob A Gun Shop

Who needs crowbars or lock picks when you have a pickup truck? Police in Florida have released surveillance footage of the moment when some enterprising thieves gained entry to a gun shop in a manner reminiscent of the Kool-Aid Man.

The clip cuts right to the action as a blue pickup truck traveling at a shockingly high speed barrels through the front door of Zephyrhills’ Sunshine State Armory. Two accomplices can be seen sprinting into the store as the driver backs the truck out of the wreckage.

Seizing the opportunity, one robber smashes glass display cases with a hammer as another begins filling a bag with a treasure trove of firearms and ammunition. Once they have stolen all they can carry, the two men flee the premises.

Police were able to discover the truck that was used in the heist, but unfortunately for investigators, it had been set on fire in a remote wooded area.

The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has posted a $2,500 bounty for information leading to the arrests of the three suspects.
