With Countless Jumbo Jacks In Peril, Hero Cop Saves Jack In The Box Restaurant

That’s certainly one way to fight a fire. An off-duty Texas police officer managed to save a Jack in the Box restaurant in Texas from catching fire by pushing a blazing pickup truck away from the building with his own car.

According to Glenn Heights Police Officer Chris Womack, who is currently in his first year as a cop, he was on his way back to work after having dinner with his wife when he spotted a vehicle on fire in a Jack in the Box drive-thru.

“When I got there, the flames were reaching the roof,” he recalled, noting that the passengers inside the truck had already fled to safety.

Dashcam footage from the incident shows that Womack quickly sped into position behind the pickup truck as flames from the wreckage threatened to spark an even larger fire. He then used his bumper to nudge the truck away from the restaurant, which ended up only suffering some burnt pavement.

Officials have yet to determine what caused the pickup truck to erupt into flames, but the driver had apparently bought it that very same day. Poor guy. Hopefully he at least got a Jumbo Jack or some curly fries before the flames erupted. Oh, or Jack in the Box cheesecake.
