A 24-year-old man in New York City was shot in the side, seemingly at random, as he made his way down 37th Ave. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment and is expected to survive, but now, the NYPD is turning to the public to help identify the culprit.
According to police, the yet-unidentified victim was minding his own business when a gunman clad in all black walked up and shot him on the right side of his torso. The shooter then fled the scene.
This video of the incident shows the shooter nonchalantly approaching the victim before pulling the firearm out of his jacket pocket and firing a single shot. He lingers for a moment, as if to ensure that the victim was downed, and then retreats out of frame.
Anyone with information that would help identify the gunman has been asked to contact the NYPD’s tip line.
