President Donald Trump called out Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) for tactically deploying crocodile tears during his recent press conference – and others on the right are pointing to a tweet that Schumer sent out in 2015 as evidence.
“I noticed that Chuck Schumer yesterday with fake tears. I’m going to ask him who was his acting coach, because I know him very well. I don’t see him as a crier. If he is, he’s a different man. There is a 5 percent chance it was real but I think they were fake tears,” Trump said in response to Schumer’s press conference.
Trump went on to question why the Democrats did not turn out in such force when American companies began hemorrhaging jobs to Mexico and pointed to his success in bringing jobs back to the United States.
Schumer, who broke down as he blasted Trump’s executive order as “mean-spirited and un-American,” tweeted out this message in 2015:
We must tighten loopholes in the Visa Waiver prgm, ensure passports can’t be faked & stop terrorists who want to exploit the system.
