The cop brought it on himself. He stuck his foot in front of the car and waited for the guy to run over it. Then he made his miserable life more tolerable by roughing him up, bullying him and humiliating him by making him lie on the ground. And they get paid for doing this crap to the citizenry. Respect for law enforcement...nope.

How the hell can any of you try to justify the drivers behavior? Even if it wasn't a cop standing that close to the car, he HAD to have known what was going to happen. You really think it's totally okay to side swipe a pedestrian? He totally had it coming. That is assault which is pretty goddamn serious.

  @jjochems The cop put his foot under the tire like it's some kind of wheel chock...surely if the Ferrari was parked so unlawfully, the owner should move it as soon as possible. The cop was already putting himself in danger by standing in the street rather than the sidewalk (and don't give me lame reg sticker garbage, that's the state's fault), and it does not appear to be a crosswalk. Looks more like the cop was impeding the flow of traffic and could have easily mailed the ticket w/ the additional f

  @JayFuzz30 I'm sorry to say that you are wrong. I watched it again and again. I recently had an injury under my foot, and me limping looked exactly like that. You can see he quicky shifts his weight to the right leg when left leg can't support.

The cop is putting himself at risk, a clear violation! Also the cop should communicate with the driver about ticket. Standing in front of car writing ticket doesn't convey to driver it's a ticket for THIS CAR! Never use body language to communicate with driver. Use verbal! Tell him verbally he got a ticket and do not move the car!!! This would have avoid the misunderstanding!
