Not much you can to to get the attention of the inattentive, except to say, if your last stopped vehicle in a line of traffic on a freeway, hit the *HAZARDS* - to give yourself a better chance of not being rammed, or as severely. And, when driving do make a point of 'scanning' well ahead, and not relying on the close-in tunnel vision we see exhibited here.
