Ever year there are 10,000 bulls killed in fights around the world. A typical bullfight begins with the bull forced into the arena to face the matador. The second stage involves picadors, men often riding horseback, that drive barbed sticks through the bull’s back and neck muscles. When the bull weakens enough from loss of blood the final stage occurs. The matador re-enters the ring alone with the red cape in one hand and a sword in the other. When the bull attacks the cape he strikes with the sword.
