  @ the Georgia aquarium is actually second largest. the only one larger is in Japan. the creators if the acrylic intentionally made it smaller. and supposedly it's a "family secret" as to how they make the acrylic their specific way. any time the GA Aquarium needs repairs to their large viewing tank they have to bring the creators all the way from Japan b/c they will not tell anyone how to fix it themselves. I only know this b/c of the "behind the scenes tour" my gf and I took there.

  @ no. ATL is 2nd largest. this one is 6" larger. done intentionally by the creators because they wanted Japan to keep the largest one. Supposedly their acrylic is a "family secret"! lol. found all this info out on a "behind the scenes tour" at the GA Aquarium

  @grndvl1 i was in GA this last April, seriously the smaller tanks are overcrowded with Cichlids and the freshwater Gars are all torn up. sad to see. Went to Mystic CT aquarium Monday, MUCH nicier but much smaller tanks. the Georgia Tanks are BIG and the natural reef (fake concrete walls of coral, lol) was cool to see the waves go over the curved glass (acrylic).... but thats about it.
