Hurricane Rita: First Aid

The security guard of the hotel from where we were documenting Hurricane Rita became concerned that his mother had failed to evacuate and was still at her home. Two storm chasers of our team brought him to her house, where he badly cut and likely broke his wrist trying to break open the front windows. We applied emergency first aid, constructed a sling out of a pizza box, and brought him to the hospital the next morning after the hurricane had passed.
