This kid has a maggot infection near his ear very disturbing

This is a screwfly infestation,Screwflies feed on live tissue.These maggots are not medicinal that is for sure..There is fresh blood around the gaping wound which is indicative of live tissue being eaten.Necrotic or dead tissue does not bleed

This may not be a maggot treatment for decaying flesh.: It may be that the wound got infected, tissue died and then it became infected with maggots.

The maggots: are the treatment, they were put there to eat the dead flesh so the wound will heal.

Its not a magot infection: Magots only eat decaying flesh. They put magots on serious injuries to stop the infection. Magots will eat all dead flesh then stop. If they didnb't do this the decaying flesh would spread.
@WildeKardeYou: are absoloutly right about that! But its because these people are poor they have to do it this way!
