Another nightmare!: A friend and coworker of mine had prostrate cancer and sought pre approval. UHC said he was good to go.He is still fighting to get the bills paid after all of his treatment. Good points made by all. Chit man you used to be able to go get some help and just give them your card and expect to pay the co pay. I guess they feel pretty comfortable these days just stealing from hard working folks who don't have much to begin with. I saw a program where the denial letters are simply stamped

mate i live in australia: And we are slowly moving the same way as the US and its shocking. I hate the new company style now, it has all regard for profit and little regard for human life, these people need to be shot.. and im not joking they are exploiting those who can least afford it which puts them in the group scum of the earth.. i hope all goes well.. It shows in life.. even if someone says something always get it in writing.

If they deny it: Apply for financial help at the hospital, they are pretty good at helping people with bills. They dropped 51% of my apendectomy bill when I had no insurance. I just told my wife today, all health insurance is a scam. Hospitals overcharge. We are left footing the bills.
