@endyn Actually, thats a Swedish anti-tankweapon. =) We Swedes hardly ever fire it during training though, just because there is a small (incredibly small) chance that this can happen. Never seen it happen before though.

@endyn Deecoop88 go back to your toys. Pellebandy is right. They are a bit unreliable. I'm reading this right out the "field manual".
It Can Happen: its an AT-4 all right and that can happent ive fired em here and there in the Marine corps and ive never seen it happen until now, but the AT-4 tube (what you see bein picked up) is made of fiberglass so the tube can be destroyed after use to prevent the enemy using it (i.e. IED container in iraq) so any imperfection will cause a catastrophic failure upon firing it

That was a propellant misfire.. the grenade was still in the chamber and yes, the retard picks it up and walks around with it, endangering himself and his squad.

Could the user who posted the video please contact me? Is the Gunner ok?: The AT4 is not a rocket, its a projectile. And its about 20 years old. You can tell its plain M136 AT4 by the molded venturi. When did this incident occur? It looks like the round never went downrange, and hence no setback to arm the fuze (thank god) at the distance it becomes armed. Its likely that the round was somehow stuck in the barrel, and the pressure from the propellant excessively built up and caused the barrel to burs

@epic_phantom not really: the rocket launcher broke but the rocket didn't explode. if it did and that marine didn't die. it would be pretty ineffective
@epic_phantom LoL: The AT4 is anti equipment munition, not anti personnel.. it would handily obliterate a person (if you can imagine a rather large grenade being shot into you at high velocity then exploding.. ) so no, the grenade did NOT explode. And yes, GRENADE (rocket propelled grenade - RPG)

@maystin its NOT: made in USA, its a AT-4 made by BOFORS in Sweden, but when you ceep them in a warehouse for 6 years before you use them, everything can happen. But im not suprised they didnt figure that one out!
