High Bar Accident: I think he wanted to do either a Straddle Tkatchev, or a Tuck Tkatchev, or a Back Tuck Dismount. If it was the Dismount, he let go too late.

Gymnastics High Bar Accident: He was supposed to fly over the bar and take a grip with his hands again. What happened here was that he's timing was off and he didn't fly over the bar. His trainer did what he was supposed to do, push a soft matt between the gymnast and the high bar. The high bar cannot be removed. ^^ And btw i happen to know where this is... that place is in Sweden's capital, Stockholm. what was supposed to happen was...: i think he wanted to back tuck off the bar but freaked out mid flight and didn't go anywhere but back again. the trainer obviously knew he couldn't do anything but push the pad underneath him to try and make it less painful. gymnasts constantly get hurt like this.

I've seen a few: of these videos of the same kind of accident. It actually happens alot more than people realize. Obviously the trainer has done it before and he has a special piece to pad the bar.

Some people here I think are watching: these videos with their eyes closed or something. The trainer slides a piece of padding across to make the guys fall less painful but you can see/hear it still hurts.

Seen it and done it.: I used to be a gymnast and that is all part of the game. The high bar will not and can not move. Nothing much the coach could have done.
