A father and daughter spot a black panther (Black African Leopard) in the distance while hunting on a deer lease in Alabama, about 25 miles south of Selma. Im not sure where theyre standing, but if I were them, Id be running like hell. You can hear the man and little girl whispering, kinda cute. Nice buck, too.

    Actually: Panthers are native to the USA, but the black coloration is a bit rare. Both Native Americans and some of the first explorers of North Amwerica made detailed notes of large cats that fit the description. They were primarily found in Florida and Southern Georgia, but have been spotted throughout the southern US from time to time. Most scientists say this is a sub-species of the North American Cougar (AKA Mountain Lion)

      @BigDawgDaveYou are correct, sir: People are all freaking out here in Michigan because we have coyotes and some people say that they have seen mountain lions. Our state agencies deny this and people around here say that it isnt true. these people are morons. If you know anything about this area in the past then you would know that this area was once the range of several large predators such as mountain lions, bears and wolves. Only our killing of these animals and pushing them further and further away has driven them

      @BigDawgDaveNJPMan, you are also correct...: in fact I just this morning made a cougar sighting report to the MI Wildlife Conservatory. Visual contact at 40 feet for over 2 minutes. Very exciting.
