8 yards my ass...: Such bullshit, that bear took off like a bat out of hell and was likely never found. It likely died from bleeding to death or some painful infection. Anyhoo, for sure it suffered. You should not be hunting unless their is minimum risk of maiming and kill is almost certain. WTF man, you shot it in the ass...! Sad human being, indeed.

@kungfouDEF. not 8 yards but......: if he hit a lung and got the heart i didnt go far.........the angle was a little back but if it was deep enough it definatley hit the lungs and/or heart,

Yea: I realize it is natural but I dont like that he gloats about it and posts it on the internet. Bears can kill people but they do so as a last resort. I work with black bears so I should know.

@JonTomdefenseless: lets see you walk up to a black bear and see how defensless it realy is. It could kill you with one swipe of its paw. I've seen bears climb up trees after hunters so trust me there not as defenseless as you think

@69yourmotherwith: a quartering away shot like that it put the arrow right into its chest cavity where it probably ripped through its heart and lungs.
