I think its latex: He must have put latex or something on his neck. It's the only thing I can think of as to how he pulled it off. It looks pretty cool though. Kind of makes you cringe looking at it.

Tip: Next time try not to make it so obvious. The red spot on your neck, the fact that you keep your head straight until the "trick", not to mention the light reflecting on the glue or whatever you use...they are all dead give aways.
