we got to within 200 yards of this tornado at its beginning, experiencing 100+ mph tornadic winds at its initiation.

    and again...: yea, the picture quality on this one is fairly bad. You can look up the storm reports on sept. 16, 2006, in south dakota where this storm took place. This is the very beginning stage of this tornado, which was reported as an F2. While it appears to be weak and very small, i assure you we were very close. soon after the tornado strengthened immensely. the tornado was actually just east of us, and moving at about 45 knots, it was very fast moving due to intense shear in the lower layers. i

    yeah. . .: like I said before.. unless you have been properly trained by the NOAA or another spotting group.. You should not go out on these "adventures" It is really dangerous no matter how "small" the tornado looks to be. be safe.. use your brain.

    tornado: how about more like 2000 yards, not 200
