Almost as soon as Ted Williams started making public appearances, stories of his troubled past began surfacing. Though Williams had been very public from the start about his past addictions and abandonment of his family, he had not disclosed his prior arrest record which included arrests for theft, robbery, escape, forgery, and drug possession. After coming to Los Angeles for more appearances, Ted Williams and his daughter got into a heated argument that led to both of them being taken to the Hollywood Police Station. They were released and both gave their sides of the story to Entertainment Tonight. Ted Williams sat down with Dr. Phil for a two-episode feature in which his family expressed concern over his sobriety.
