When you’re a hardened criminal behind bars, almost anything you put your hands on can become a weapon in some fashion. Just check out this intense video of a Florida prisoner who waltzed up behind a corrections officer and attempted to strangle him with nothing but a towel. The incident took place at the Falkenburg Road Jail in Tampa when 22-year-old Kiondre Zachery sneaked up on Deputy D. Hernandez as he was speaking to other inmates and threw a towel around his neck. Surveillance footage shows Hernandez struggle momentarily before twisting out of the prisoner’s deadly grasp. The pair then walk out of frame, where fellow inmates helped to pin down Zachery until help could arrive. According to prison officials, Hernandez, who had worked for the jail for nearly a year, suffered a twisted ankle, bruised knee, and cuts on his neck due to the scuffle. Zachery now faces charges of aggravated battery on a law enforcement on top of the burglary charges that landed him in prison in the first place. He has been sent to an isolation cell for his murderous outburst.
