Born in born in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, Mexico, she is the daughter of a Lebanese-Mexican oil company executive, and an opera singer of Spanish descent. She dropped out of college in 1991 to become an actress, and she was quickly picked up on a popular Spanish telenovela. Her real break didn’t come until Robert Rodriguez cast her in “Desperado”, his bloody follow-up to “El Mariachi”. She went on to dozens of other starring roles in big Hollywood blockbusters. In “Dusk Til Dawn”, she portrayed what is arguably the hottest murderous vampire of all time. Her character puts every other vampire on “True Blood” and “Twilight” to shame.
