An incident occurred in Feb 2009 where Rihanna was involved in a domestic dispute with then boyfriend Chris Brown. A photo was leaked which revealed that Rihanna had sustained visible injuries to her face. Chris Brown pled guilty to 1 count of felony assault but did not have to do any jail time. He was given 5 years of supervised probation and 6 months of community labor. He also had to enroll in a domestic violence counseling program. There was a restraining order set in place that stated that Chris must stay 50 yards away from Rihanna for 5 years. However, if they attended the same industry event the restraining order would be reduced to 10 yards.
