The time has finally come for Marvel Studios to release the very first trailer for Thor: Ragnarok, the crown prince of Asgard’s first titular film since 2013. We’re picking right back up from the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron, which saw Thor leave Earth to explore other realms. It apparently didn’t take long for Thor (Chris Hemsworth) to find himself facing a new threat – or rather, an old one. Hela (Cate Blanchett) is an ancient deity from Niflheim who was released from her prison and came back to Asgard to seek revenge. She’s hellbent on destroying all of Asgard and it’s up to Thor to stop her. However, Thor winds up getting imprisoned on the planet of Sakaar without his Hammer, which Hela seemingly destroyed. To win his freedom, Thor has to fight in a gladiator arena and emerge victorious. Things are looking grim for Thor until the doors open and his first opponent is revealed to be none other than the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo). What a relief, right? Wrong. The trailer cuts out with an epic shot of Thor and the Hulk about to throw down, hinting that all might not be as it seems for the Avengers. Thor: Ragnarok will hit theaters on November 3, 2017.
