As magic has become more elaborate some magicians have risen above other to become master illusionists. . Here are a few world famous magicians and illusionists that you may have heard of:- Harry Houdini is perhaps the most legendary magician and escape artist in history; he was known to perform straitjacket escapes dangling upside down from the roof of buildings.
- David Blain is an American illusionist and endurance artist; he is most notable for his buried alive stunt in which he was entombed in a plastic box filled with 3 tons of water for seven days. Like Houdini, he is most notable for performing in New York. Las Vegas is the most popular destination to see the worlds best Magicians and Magic Shows.
- David Copperfield is believed to be the most “successful” magician in history. He owns the International Museum and Library of the Conjuring Arts, which houses the largest and most significant pieces of magic memorabilia, books and artifacts. Copperfield is best known for his talent for incorporating storytelling and illusions.
- Siegfried and Roy were long time Vegas performers at the mirage. Siegfried was a magic performer and Roy an animal trainer. Their signature trademark was their use of white tigers incorporated into their show. The show halted in 2003 after Roy was bitten in the neck by a tiger and was in critical condition.
- Criss Angel is best known for his Las Vegas performances and his television show Criss Angel Mindfreak. He performed illusions where he walked on water and levitated above the Luxor hotel in Las Vegas.
