Katherine started her career as a child model with Wilhelmina Models. As a teenager she landed a role on the show Roswell and also in the movie My Father the Hero. Her big break was when she was cast as Dr. Izzie Stevens in Shonda Rhime's hit show Grey's Anatomy.
Katherine Heigl married Josh Kelley in 2007. The couple adopted a baby girl from Korea and named her Nancy Leigh, after Heigl’s mother and sister. Heigl’s older sister Meg is also adopted from Korea. In 2010, she won the People’s Choice Awards for Best TV Actress.
