Dunham uses these stereotypes primarily as a way to make fun of the particular social group he is stereotyping, but also to comment on the manner in which people perceive these stereotypes.

Dunham had his own sketch comedy show on Comedy Central in 2009, but the show was canceled after the first season due to poor ratings and overwhelmingly negative critical feedback.
