Hail forms in strong thunderstorm clouds when the temperature reaches below freezing. They usually grow in size and increase in speed as they fall to the ground. They can range in size from pea sized to as big as softballs. When they get to be as large as golf balls they tend to do a great deal of damage. Hail is usually accompanied by lightning, high winds, and often flash floods.

If you are ever in a hail storm, don’t run around in it. Find shelter and pull out your camera and film it. It always makes for an entertaining video.
