Fus Ro Dah videos use audio from the first Skyrim: The Elder Scrolls V trailer (see above, about 1:05 in), pairing the audio with preexisting videos. Although the first Fus Ro Dah video existed as early as September 2011, the first Fus Ro Dah video to become widely popular was a recycled video of a staged (and faked) office prank (see above), posted in early December, 2011. That was the watershed that signaled the coming flood of Fus Ro Dah videos, now numbering in the thousands.

The implementation of the meme is simple. You take a video of someone or something being blown over or away and place the Skyrim’s audio track for the Fus Ro Dah under the video, timing the “DAH!” to coincide with the major action. It’s simple to pull off, and the result is almost always hilarious. In this way, this meme is very similar to 2009’s Keyboard Cat phenomenon. You can find the best of the Fus Ro Dah videos below.
