Flash Mobs
500 people conduct a synchronized dance in a train station. A park is flooded by elves bringing merry cheer. One thousand students rave in a university atrium. All these seemingly random events fall under the same moniker: flash mob. A group or people, large or small, who converge on an area and make the ordinary extraordinary.

More Info About Flash Mobs
The first modern flash mobs occurred in New York City in the summer of 2003. These early mobs consisted of groups crashing New York establishments. These paved the way for flash mobs which would focus on more obscure aspects such as the hammer pants flash mob above. Hundreds of people wear matching pants and learn dance moves from MC Hammer’s hit song. Once this dancing riot is mixed with a store full of shoppers a legendary flash mob video is born. Other flash mobs turn public spaces against their intended use. Two examples below show libraries transformed into dance clubs in a matter of minutes. Although the idea is new, flash mobs look to only become more common and more incredible with every passing year.
