Don't Tase Me Bro
“Don’t Tase Me Bro” became the catch phrase of 2007 when, during a University of Florida open forum featuring Senator John Kerry, a student was tasered by police after his verbally aggressive interrogation of the former presidential candidate. The television journalism student, Andrew Meyer, was forcibly removed the forum hall, and despite his efforts to free himself of restraint, the police subdued him with jolts from a taser. Right before Meyer suffered painful compliance, he shouted “Don’t Tase Me Bro!”, and the viral legacy of the phrase began.
