The Boy Fly is a species of fly whose larvae is a parasite for humans. The fly eggs will be picked up by a mosquito and then released when the mosquito is feeding. The larvae may use the mosquito bite area as the entry point and develop inside the layers of the skin.

To remove the larvae, a substance such as nail polish or Vaseline, or tape in some instances, is applied to the area to suffocate the larvae. Then the larvae can be removed with tweezers or squeezed out.
